Westwood Cardinals Help Hillsdale Food Pantry

More than 20 football players from Westwood Regional High School helped load donated turkeys and sort other food for the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Hillsdale.

Football players from Westwood Regional High School helped sort turkeys and other food donated to the Helping Hands Food Pantry of Hillsdale and delivered them to recipients in a coordinated effort organized in part by the Westwood Rotary Club this week.

The pantry serves more than 500 Pascack Valley residents.

“These strong, healthy young men picked up 80 donated turkeys from Kings supermarket and brought them into our pantry," Lois Kohan of Helping Hand Food Pantry said in a press release. "They continued to help us as we served our 58 families for Thanksgiving. They were a pleasure to work with and their help was greatly appreciated by our volunteers and clients."

The Cardinals will be going on to compete for the North 1, Group 2 state sectional championship December 7.
