Cardinals Top Newton 63-12, Heading to Championship

Westwood Regional High School's football team was victorious again Friday, beating Newton 63-12 in the second round of the North 1, Group 2 state sectionals.

The top-seeded Cardinals have off this week for Thanksgiving. They will face 9-2 Waldwick in the North 1, Group 2 final at 4 p.m. December 7 at Kean University.

Quarterback Craig Carmilani threw four touchdown passes and ran one in himself against Newton, NJ.com reported.

Carmilani has thrown for more than 2,700 yards and 33 touchdowns this season. Nolan Borgersen has received 79 passes to make 25 touchdowns. Brandon Gallagher has run in nine touchdowns. Defensively, Colin Keating has made 10 sacks.
