Board Approves New Westwood Tire Store

ETD Discount Tire Center is planning to open a new store on Kinderkamack Road in Westwood. The application was unanimously approved by the Westwood Zoning Board during a special meeting last week.

The company will knock down an empty garage at 22 Kinderkamack Road and build a new 5,160-square-foot store there. 

Board Chair William Martin said he believed the business would be a good fit for the site because it wasn't far off from uses allowed in the zone.

"It was not inconsistent with the Master Plan," Martin said, referring the the document which sets what uses are allowed on properties in different areas of the borough.

Construction on the new store will start once they receive some required state approvals and is expected to last about four months, according to company Retail Director Joel Sparling.

The shop will offer tire installation and repair for all cars, SUVs and light trucks, as well as auto service, according to Sparling. The plans also include a waiting area for customers.
