Hillsdale School Board Appoints Krista Flinn

Flinn has previous experience as a class mom and co-president of the Meadowbrook FFA.

The Hillsdale Board of Education picked Krista Flinn as their new member, district Business Administrator Lirca Garcia told Patch.

Flinn is a former class mom and co-president of the Meadowbrook FFA with two children in the district and another at Pascack Valley High School.

"I'm really excited to join the Board of Education," Flinn said. "I think they do a terrific job and I wanted to be a part of it."

Flinn said she believed that her former experience dealing with the public — and willingness to do the right thing even when it's unpopular — would be an asset to the board.

During their meeting Monday, the board interviewed three candidates for the open seat left by Debbie Loganchuk, who resigned from the board as of March 1.

Board President James Hayden said they were looking for someone who could meet the large time commitment and would run for the unexpired one-year term in November, then run for a full three-year term next year.
