Westwood Woman Killed in Watercraft Accident

Dawn Finn was riding a personal watercraft in Nevada when she collided with another craft driven by her daughter.

A 52-year-old Westwood woman was killed in a watercraft collision on Lake Tahoe, Nev. Wednesday.

Dawn Finn and her 21-year-old daughter had rented personal watercraft and were riding them in the lake when they collided for unknown reasons, according to a report in the Tahoe Daily Tribune.

Nevada Department of Wildlife spokesman Ed Lyngar said Finn suffered massive trauma in the accident and died almost on impact, according to the report.

“This is just a tragic accident," Lyngar told the Tribune. "Our hearts go out to the family involved. It’s just horrific."

The family was reportedly in town for a wedding, and many family members were on a nearby beach at the time of the accident. Officials from the Department of Wildlife had taken the craft and were attempting to reconstruct the accident, according to the report.
