Original Pizza Reopens in Washington Township

The pizzeria is back in their original location after closing for more than three years.

Original Pizza, a Washington Township institution, recently reopened in the Washington Town Center.

"It feels like we never left," Rosalie David said. "It's really good. It's like we're home."

The pizzeria had been open for more than 20 years under the co-ownership of Dominick David and his brother before they closed three years ago. David, the chef, decided to reopen the restaurant on his own.

Original Pizza now features its original chef, location and the same ingredients that made it popular before. They've also expanded their menu with new specialty pizzas, paninis and other dishes and added a new delivery service.

"It's still good food like before," David said.

The pizzeria officially reopened June 1 and had a line outside waiting for them, according to Rosalie David, who called it "a really warm welcome" from their old customers.

Original Pizza wasn't the only business to return to the township's strip mall. Dunkin Donuts, which had also closed after the economy took a downturn a few years ago, also recently reopened.

"It's good to see life back in the shopping center," Dominick David said.
