Hillsdale Blockbuster Closing

The store's closest location will be in Fair Lawn when the Hillsdale shop closes March 22.

The Hillsdale Blockbuster will close March 22, a store employee confirmed.

Until then, the store will be selling off all their merchandise, including movies, games and retail fixtures at increasingly reduced prices.

The Denver Post recently reported that about 300 Blockbuster stores would be closing across the country. As many as 3,000 employees may lose their jobs, according to the report.

An employee at the Hillsdale store, who did not want to be identified because of employement terms, said that some of the store's employees may go to other locations, and others were planning to focus on school once they close.

When the Hillsdale store closes, the nearest Blockbuster location will be in Fair Lawn. The next closest locations are in the Bronx, N.Y. and Clifton, N.J., according to the company's website.
