Westwood Budget, Washington Twp. CVS, Patterson Street Apartment Hearings This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Hillsdale and Washington Township.

The Westwood Council is scheduled to introduce their 2013 budget during their meeting Tuesday night. Officials previously said they were having difficulties with the budget because the borough's assessed value dropped by $17 million this year.  The Council is also scheduled to introduce an ordinance for an emergency appropriation of $300,000 for a revaluation the county is requiring the borough to undergo this year. The Westwood Council meets at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Municipal Complex. United Water Lawsuit, Deadline For Assemblyman This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Hillsdale and Washington Township

The Washington Township Council is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Complex Monday. At their last meeting, the council voted to reject four bids they received for an emergency generator and go out to bid a second time in hopes of finding a better deal. The township has been renting a generator since their old one spewed gas into the Police Department. Tuesday, United Water and Hillsdale representatives are scheduled to meet with a judge to discuss the lawsuit the utility filed seeking to void two borough ordinances passed last year. The Hillsdale Council also has a meeting that night at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building. Westwood Regional High School's Woodington Players will present Little Shop of Horrors Thursday, Friday…

Washington Township CVS Hearing Continues Tuesday

A developer wants to build a 14,500-square-foot CVS on the corner of Pascack Road and Washington Avenue.

The Washington Township Zoning Board is scheduled to continue hearing an application for a CVS at the corner of Pascack Road and Washington Avenue this week. The plan calls for a 14,500-square-foot CVS to be built on the corner currently occupied by several houses. The developer has also offered to donate a piece of the land to the county for a proposed intersection improvement, if the application is approved. At the previous meeting, traffic engineer Gary Dean took questions from the board and public about his testimony. According to Dean, the CVS would have an "imperceptible" impact on traffic at the busy intersection, if the proposed improvement is built. School Evaluations, Parking Change Coming This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Washington Township and Hillsdale.

Hillsdale school officials are scheduled to make a presentation about the district's Quality Single Accountability Continuum (QSAC) report during their meeting this week. The QSAC is an evaluation for school districts used by the New Jersey Department of Education. Districts are evaluated for their instruction and programs, fiscal management, governance, personnel and operations. Also, school officials from the Hillsdale district and the Westwood Regional district are planning to make presentations of data from standardized test scores during their respective meetings this week.  The Hillsdale Board of Education meets Monday at 8 p.m. in George G.
