Hillsdale Applies For $1.3 Million in Grants

The grants will pay for road work and other projects, if they are awarded to the borough.

Hillsdale officials voted to apply for almost $1.3 million in grants for proposed projects in the borough during their last meeting. The majority of the applications are for grants for road work from the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The borough as asking for: The NJDOT recently awarded a $193,000 grant to Hillsdale for work on Central Avenue and Cross Street. "If we can get grant money through state or county means, we're going to take advantage of it," Mayor Max Arnowitz previously told Patch. The borough is also asking for two Community Development Block Grants to make ADA upgrades at Stonybrook Swim Club and Borough Hall. Officials also voted to join a pricing co-op with the Middlesex Regional Educational Services Commission…
