The plans don't include any retail store at the site.
The former Getty on Washington Avenue in Washington Township could reopen as a BP, if the township Planning Board approves an application for the plan. Getty Properties Corp., which owns the site, agreed to lease 28 gas station properties in New Jersey and New York to BP of North America after Getty Petroluem Marketing went bankrupt. Fourteen other Getty stations have reportedly already switched to BP. Ted Foundopoulos, the former operator of the Washington Township Getty, previously told Patch that he was not going to continue with BP because he lost a $58,000 security deposit when Getty went bankrupt and BP wanted him to pay another $30,000 deposit to them. Getty Realty, a separate company from GPMI which owns the property in Washington Township, signed a 15-year lease with BP for the site and 27 other Getty gas stations in New Jersey and New York. Foundopoulos said BP offered him the opportunity to continue running the station for 14 months once they take over, but he would have had to pay …

The Getty gas station on Washington Avenue has not had a delivery of gas for about two weeks but its garage is still open.
Ted Foundopoulos doesn't know what is going to happen to his business, the Getty gas station and garage at 615 Washington Avenue which has not had a shipment of fuel for about two weeks. "Nobody's telling us anything," Foundopoulos said. Foundopoulos was a tenant of Getty Petroleum Marketing (GPMI) and a sub-tenant of Getty Realty, a separate company which leases gas stations and convenience stores to distributors. Last December, GPMI filed for bankruptcy. Two weeks ago, a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge in New York found the lease between GPMI and Getty Realty was void, allowing the real estate company to repossess 788 gas stations, including the Getty in Washington Township. Since then, Foundopoulos has received no new shipments of fuel — …
