Flood Watch in Westwood, Hillsdale Wednesday

The National Weather Service announced a flood watch for Bergen County.

A winter storm expected to hit the Pascack Valley Wednesday afternoon may cause flooding. The National Weather Service announced a flood watch in Bergen County starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday and lasting until Thursday morning. The storm is expected to bring 1.5 to 2 inches of precipitation. Local water levels were still higher than normal following another storm last week and a light snow Monday night. Gages used by the U.S. Geological Survey in the Pascack Brook showed that water was about 6 inches deeper Wednesday morning than before the storm last week. The heaviest rain is expected to come Wednesday night. The storm will "likely cause flooding of roadways and properties adjacent some small streams," according to the NWS. A wind advisory …

Flood Watch Issued through Saturday Night

Steady rain expected to continue throughout the weekend

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Bergen County that runs from noon Friday until 8 p.m. Saturday. Rain is expected to begin around 10:15 a.m. Friday and continue throughout the day. Total rainfall between one and three inches is expected across the county, with amounts up to four inches of rain possible in some areas. Here is the forecast for the Westwood area from the National Weather Service. Friday: Showers, mainly after noon. Areas of fog before 11 a.m. High near 73. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph.
