With about 30 active members, the Township of Washington Volunteer Ambulance Corps responds to emergency calls in theMore area around the clock. The all-volunteer organization serves the Townships of Washington, Westwood, Hillsdale, Emerson, Park Ridge, Woodcliff Lake, Montvale and Paramus, free of charge. American Legion Post 206 is a charitable organization dedicated to veterans, veterans' families and people currentlyMore involved in military conflicts. Members try to raise money for different causes in that vein. They support units going to Iraq and donate to the Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus. Fund-raisers include everything from concerts to selling poppies in May before Memorial Day. Members also conduct services in Westwood for Memorial Day and Veterans Day and work with the Westwood Veterans Council and Heritage Society. Members and their guests are welcome at the post facility. Members of the public can rent the hall for their own purposes. Call the Legion for more information.
