Township of Washington Volunteer Fire Department
201-666-0750
The Township of Washington Volunteer Fire Department relies on its members to donate their time. In addition to fighting fires, members are trained to rescue people stuck in automobiles after crashes and those trapped in ice and water. Community outreach is another big part of the department, which sponsors a Little League team, holds an annual Easter egg hunt, participates in Memorial Day festivities, holds an annual open house and runs a Ragamuffin Parade. On-site next to the department buildling, there is a memorial dedicated to members of the department who have died. Call if you're interested in becoming a volunteer member.
