Golden Age Theater Approved by Westwood Board

A "golden age" movie theater which will show classic films mostly from the 1930s and '40s looks like it will be opening in Westwood.

Ray Walsh's application to open the 96-seat theater in a former law office on Kinderkamack Road was approved by the Westwood Zoning Board Monday night. The theater will play movies twice each night from Wednesday to Saturday.

Government Shutdown Delays IRS Decision For Washington Twp.

The decision on whether Washington Township's attorney counts as an employee or a contractor, which township officials have already been awaiting for months, will be delayed even longer due to the shutdown of the federal government, council President Steve Cascio said Monday.

Cascio said he had tried to call the IRS agent who has been handling the case and got a message stating the agent would be out until the shutdown is over.
