Booze Shopping Spree Leads to Arrest For Credit Card Fraudsters, Police Say

Hillsdale Police arrested two men Friday for allegedly trying to use bogus credit cards to buy about $2,000 worth of alcohol at Bottle King.

Washington Twp. Police Car Catches Fire

A fast-acting Washington Township police officer was able to extinguish a fire in a patrol car Sunday morning.

Police Cpl. Saverio Fasciano, who also happens to be a former township fire chief, put out the fire in the driver's area of a parked 2013 Ford Interceptor at about 11:36 a.m. after police spotted a haze vehicle, according to Lt. Rich Skinner. The SUV was parked in the municipal lot and not running at the time of the fire, he said.

Developer Plans Eight-House Subdivision in Hillsdale

A developer has plans to build a new eight-house subdivision on an unoccupied Hillsdale property.

Zarsion Jinhui, LLC of Glen Rock has applied to Hillsdale for approval of the site plan and proposal to subdivide the 230,267-square-foot property into eight lots and a new road.

Soldiers Send Thanks, Flag For Girl Scout Cookies

U.S. soldiers based at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa recently sent back a flag and an Operation Enduring Freedom certificate to a group of Hillsdale Girl Scouts and American Legionnaires who sent over care packages of donated cookies earlier this year.
