Tree Lightings, Santa Visits This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Hillsdale and Washington Township.

The Washington Township Fire Department is selling Christmas trees, wreath, roping, grave blankets and other Christmas accessories from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. through Dec. 24. This year marks the department's 55th sale.

The Westwood Fire Department will be running Santa visits this week. The schedule is available here.

The Hillsdale Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled for December 16.

Washington Township will host a flu vaccination event from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday in the township municipal building. The shots are available to anyone 18 or older and cost $12.

The Washington Township Council is scheduled to vote on an ordinance for public television programming guidelines and coverage of public meetings during their meeting this week. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the township municipal building. The agenda is available here.

The Pascack Valley Regional Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the PVHS auditorium. The agenda is available here.

The Hillsdale Council is scheduled to vote on a three-year agreement with the PBA during their meeting this week. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the borough hall. The agenda is available here.

Wednesday is the deadline for the "Have a Heart" gift drive.

Hillsdale will host their "holiday in the park" event at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Veterans Park.

Blooming Hearts Gift Shop will hold children's craft events including a wreath-making event at 6 p.m. Wednesday and an ornament-painting event at 6 p.m. Friday. Material fees vary.

Washington Township will hold their tree lighting at 5 p.m. Friday on Finnerty Place.
