School Split-Up Hearing, DogFest, Council Meetings This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Hillsdale and Washington Township.

Residents will be able to share their thoughts on Woodcliff Lake's attempt to withdraw from the Pascack Valley Regional School District during a public hearing held by the New Jersey Department of Education Monday. The hearing is scheduled to run from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Bergen County Technical High School, 504 Route 46 West in Teterboro.

The Washington Township Council is scheduled to vote on a new pay-to-play law during their meeting this week. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the township municipal building. The meeting's agenda is available online here.

The Westwood Council will hold their public meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the borough municipal building. The meeting's agenda is available online here.

The Hillsdale Library will host an event to make "cakepops" for cardholders entering grades seven through 12 at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Registration is required.

Hillsdale's summer concert series continues Wednesday with Easy Listening at 8 p.m. in Veterans Park.

The Hillsdale Library will host a James Bond double feature at 4 p.m. Thursday for cardholders entering grades seven through 12. The movies will include "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall" and there will also be free pizza.

The Westwood Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 8 p.m. Thursday in the borough municipal building.

The fifth annual DogFest will be held at Westvale Park in Westwood Saturday. The event will include "music, food, crafters, 50/50's and lots of adoptable dogs" between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
