Police Promotions Vote, Diabetes Workshop, Halloween This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Hillsdale and Washington Township.

The Washington Township Board of Health will hold the first of six programs in the "Diabetes self-management workshop" from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday in the township municipal building. Call 551-996-2038 to register.

The Westwood Regional Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.

The Pascack Valley Regional Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the PV auditorium. The agenda is available here.

The Hillsdale Planning Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the borough hall.

The Westwood Council is scheduled to vote on an ordinance setting guidelines for police promotions during their meeting this week. The council meets at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the borough municipal building. The full agenda is available here.

The Washington Township Planning Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.

Police in Westwood and Washington Township will be enforcing a 9 p.m. curfew for children Wednesday, Mischief Night, and Thursday, Halloween.

Gyros & Goodies will appear on new Food Network show "Restaurant Divided" at 10 p.m. Thursday.

The Hillsdale DPW will host a free shredding event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The Bergen County Metro Chapter of the International Organization of Lace will hold Lace Day at the Elks lodge in Westwood from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday as well as several workshops Sunday.
