Holiday Events, School Board Meetings, Concert This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Hillsdale and Washington Township.

The Washington Township Fire Department is selling Christmas trees, wreath, roping, grave blankets and other Christmas accessories from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. through Dec. 24. This year marks the department's 55th sale.

Pascack Valley Regional Schools officials will make a presentation about the new schedule to take effect in the 2014-15 school year at 7 p.m. Monday in the PVHS auditorium. An identical presentation will be made at Hills January 6.

The Washington Township Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the township municipal building. The agenda is available here.

The Hillsdale Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the administration building. The agenda is available here.

The Hillsdale Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the borough hall.

The Westwood Council is scheduled to discuss methane monitoring in Westvale Park and vote on an ordinance to appropriate funds for a drainage project on Newark Avenue. The council meets at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the borough municipal building. The agenda is available here.

UPDATE: The Washington Township Zoning Board was scheduled to continue hearing an application for a new CVS on the corner of Pascack Road and Washington Avenue this week, but that hearing has been postponed. The board meets at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the township municipal building.

Blooming Hearts Gift Shop in Westwood will host a soap-making class at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Pascack Valley High School will hold the annual holiday concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Semerjian Shoes and Bibi’z Restaurant in Westwood will hold a happy hour and shopping fundraiser Thursday to benefit West Ridge Elementary School in Park Ridge. The event starts at 5:30 p.m.

The Westwood Regional Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the high school.

The Westwood Planning Board meets at 8 p.m. Thursday in the borough municipal building. The agenda is available here.

The Washington Township Fire Department will drive Santa around town and deliver candy canes starting at 11 a.m. Sunday.
