Cat Adoption Event, Summer Concerts, Council Meeting This Week
Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Hillsdale and Washington Township.
The Pascack Valley Swim Club in Westwood will host a weekly Aqua Zumba class starting Monday. Classes are $12 individually or $50 for five weeks. Non-members can participate.
The Hillsdale Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in borough hall.
The Hillsdale Library will host a "book hedgehogs" event for cardholders entering grades seven through 12 at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Registration is required.
Hillsdale's summer concert series kicks off Wednesday with Willie Wilson and the Willies playing in Veterans Park from 8 to 10 p.m.
The Hillsdale Planning Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in borough hall.
The Westwood Rotary Club meets at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Westwood Library.
The Hillsdale Library will screen "Goonies" and allow children to make their own "cars" for an indoor "drive-in" for cardholders entering grades seven through 12. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Westwood's summer concert series continues Thursday with R&B band Soul Finger Live playing in the Veterans' Memorial Park bandstand at 8 p.m.
The Westwood Planning Board meets at 8 p.m. Thursday in the borough municipal complex.
The Hillsdale United Methodist Church will host an outdoor screening of the movie “We Bought a Zoo” at 8 p.m. Friday in their courtyard.
The Westwood Community Band will play in the Veterans' Memorial Park bandstand at 8 p.m. Friday.
Caring About The Strays, a Westwood-based group which finds homes for cats, will hold an adoption event at the Park Ridge Train Depot on Hawthorne and Park Avenues in Park Ridge from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Bergen Save the Watershed Action Network will host a guided tour of the Emerson Woods and art event for children age 8 to 12 Saturday. The event runs from 2 to 4 p.m and registration is required. Call (201) 666-1877 or email bergenswan@sprynet.com with the subject “July 14 Nature Walk.”
