The Realtor Reviews...The Park Steakhouse - Park Ridge, NJ

As a steak lover, I have been to many of the finest steakhouses in NYC. Peter Luger, Smith and Wollensky, Sparks, Old Homestead and many more. In New Jersey, The River Palm Terrace has never failed me and is right there with all of them. That is why I was a little apprehensive when I chose The Park Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday last week. Dry-aged steaks are what all these steakhouses have in common and when you go to one of these steakhouses, you know that dry-aged is why you pay a premium for these steaks. The flavor is unbeatable, due to the marbling that gets broken down and the flavor is distributed well throughout the meat.

The Park Steakhouse is classy place. Valet parking, we passed on the coat check and then we were greeted warmly by the hostess. Romantic and elegant, the place had nice holiday lights. Our waitress was friendly and the place was kid-friendly, as they had a children's menu. The Park Steakhouse has an extensive wine list as well as a selection of wines by the glass. For starters, I had the Grilled Ahi Tuna served with Kimchi and pickled Shitakes ($15). I also ordered a glass of Hillside Pinot Noir. It was a nice pour but the wine did not seem fresh and lacked body. The tuna was excellent, but could have used some lemon. I was able to get some from my wife when she ordered her iced tea, which was unsweetened and came in its own pitcher. It was very good, and you can taste that it was fresh brewed.

On to the main course. I ordered the 24 oz. Cowboy Steak ($49), which is a bone-in rib-eye. It came with shoestring fries. I ordered mine in the medium-rare/medium range. My wife had one of the fish specials which was Red Snapper and came with a choice of sides. I ordered asparagus and onion rings for sides which were ala carte. My son had a kids sirloin which was a nice sized portion of meat. For dessert, I chose a pumpkin cheesecake ($8) that was unique and tasted delicious. My wife and son split what is called Warm Chocolate Therapy ($9) and was a triple chocolate lava cookie served with vanilla gelato and peanut butter sauce. The nice people at The Park Steakhouse comped my dessert and it was a great ending to a great meal. Everything was delicious and the steak lived up to any NYC steakhouse. Hooray for a great steakhouse that is right here in Northern Bergen County! I give The Park Steakhouse 4.5 stars! You can find out more about The Park Steakhouse at www.theparksteakhouse.com
