Cardinals Seeded First in North 1, Group 2 Playoffs

Westwood Regional High School's Cardinals defeated Ridgefield Park 46-0 Thursday to bring their record to 8-1 for the season, putting them in the top-ranked spot for North 1, Group 2 state sectionals.

The Cardinals will face eighth seed Elmwood Park in the first round. The Crusaders are 6-3 so far this year.

Quarterback Craig Carmilani has completed 108 passes for 2,170 yards this season, including 13 of his 18 attempts last week. 

Westwood Regional will host Elmwood Park at 7 p.m. Friday. The winner will next face either Lenape Valley or Newton in the next round.
