Cardinals, Indians Advance in State Sectionals
Both Westwood Regional and Pascack Valley won in their respective state sectional games Friday.
The football teams of both Westwood Regional and Pascack Valley High Schools were victories in their respective first round playoff games Friday.
Westwood's Cardinals defeated Elmwood Park 62-12, putting the team's record at 9-1 so far for the season. They will next host 5-5 Newton at 7 p.m. Friday for the second round of the North 1, Group 2 state sectionals.
Pascack Valley also won Friday, beating Passaic Valley 46-3. The Indians will host Northern Highlands, who narrowly defeated Wayne Hills last week, at 7 p.m. Friday for the second round of the North 1, Group 4 state sectionals.
