Pascack Valley School Board Reviewing Professional Contracts

District officials are reviewing potentially cheaper options for a variety of services used by the Pascack Valley Regional School District.

The Pascack Valley Board of Education voted this week to extend its current contracts with various professionals until next month.

Board members said they wanted to extend the contracts so they would have more time to investigate their options for potentially cheaper services.

"I hope that this board will seriously negotiate with our professionals," member Adam Silverstein said.

Board members said they were happy with their current professionals, but wanted to make sure they did their "due dilligence" in comparing prices for a variety of services, including their attorney, auditor and insurance, among others.

"We've been extremely well-served by the professionals that we have," member Jeffrey Steinfeld said.

Superintendent P. Erik Gundersen said that more information about prices and services would be available by the board's February 4 meeting.
