Cascone to be Appointed Westwood High Principal

The Westwood Regional Board of Education is scheduled to appoint Scott Cascone, the interim principal, as the permanent principal for next school year and appoint a new interim superintendent at their meeting Thursday.

Scott Cascone, who has been filling in as the interim principal of Westwood Regional High School, will likely be appointed to the job permanently.

Board of Education President Roberta Hanlon said that they had advertised for the job and Cascone had applied. They are scheduled to make the appointment at the school board meeting Thursday night.

"He's always been a good employee for the district," Hanlon said.

The board is also scheduled to vote on appointing James M. Sheerin as the new interim superintendent starting July 1.

Sheerin served as a superintendent in Livingston and Hackettstown during the '90s and has worked as an education consultant and interim superintendent in districts around the state ever since. Westwood Regional will be his first district in Bergen County.
