Westwood Scout Plans Hegeman Park Clean-Up

An Eagle Scout-hopeful from Westwood is planning to fix-up Hegeman Park on Sand Road.
Kevin Keenan's proposal for his Eagle project was approved by the Westwood Council during their meeting this week.
Keenan will organize a team of volunteers to put in a new sign matching one installed by another Eagle Scout in Veterans' Memorial Park, repair a cement retaining wall, power wash and repaint a patio area and fix-up the pavilion with new shingles, among other work at the park.
"This is a much-needed project," Mayor John Birkner said.
The project will start either this fall or in the spring, with the final portion being finished in the spring, Keenan said.
