Westwood Hosting Revaluation Presentations For Residents

Representatives from Appraisal Systems Inc. will explain the revaluation process for residents at three meetings later this month.

Westwood will host three presentations explaining the upcoming revaluation process for residents.

Representatives from Appraisal Systems Inc. will explain the process of inspections and appraisals and take questions from residents at 7 p.m. August 14 and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. August 16. All three presentations will take place in the council chambers at the borough municipal building.

Inspectors from the company are expected to begin visiting borough homes in the next two weeks and should be finished by October.

The inspectors will be visiting borough homes between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. They will carry photo I.D. authorized by the Westwood Police Department, according to a letter sent to residents. If no one is home when they come, they will leave a card to set up an appointment.

Once the revaluation is complete, the new assessments will affect property taxes in 2014.
