Stonybrook Swim Club Plans Renovations

The Hillsdale Council approved a $106,000 contract this week for the work.

Hillsdale's Stonybrook Swim Club is going to get a facelift after this summer.

The Hillsdale Council approved a $106,205.50 contract this week with All State Technology to replaster the club's kiddie spray pool and perform other renovations.

The work is being paid for with money from Stonybrook's reserve fund, so they won't need to borrow anything, according to Stonybrook Chairman Jay Campbell.

In addition to the work on the accessory pool, which has developed some cracks, there will be renovations done to the club's building, according to Campbell.

The work on the building will include sprucing up the entrance facade and widening the entryway used by pool members by moving a staircase.

"People have a lot of baby carriages and chairs in tow, so it'll make things a lot easier," Campbell said.

Office space used by Stonybrook staff will also be expanded and a play area will get a new cement pad.

Campbell said he expected the work would start once the club closes for the season and should be done by the time they open next year.
