Several times so far this year, residents from across New Jersey have been invited to meet with members of Gov. Chris Christie's staff during "mobile office hours" and on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., the Paramus Municipal Complex will be one of the latest locations. The event is open to all Bergen County residents.
The mobile offices were created as an outlet for residents and staffers to meet and discuss issues or concerns, according to Jeanne Dovgala Ashmore, director of the office of constituent relations.
"We receive many emails and letters on a variety of issues and this is Gov. Christie's effort at finding a way to bring Trenton to where people live," Ashmore said.
Ashmore along with several staffers will be on hand to provide information and answer any questions regarding tax issues, benefits, veteran's affairs, unemployment checks or social security. Residents are also encouraged to bring any information that they would like to share with Christie's staffers about issues going on in their hometown.
The Jefferson Township Senior Center also served as home to the mobile office in January.
No appointments are necessary and the Mobile Office will be available to all Bergen County residents from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at 1 Jockish Square in Paramus. For more information, call the Governor's office at 609-777-2500.
