Construction Moving Westwood Bus Stop

Road work is scheduled to continue in downtown Westwood this week.

Ongoing roadwork in downtown Westwood is scheduled to temporarily close several streets this week.

NJ Transit will also be closing the bus stop on the southbound side of Broadway near Washington Avenue from Tuesday, Nov. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 7 due to the work. Riders on Bus Route No. 165 Local, Parkway Express, Route 4 Express and Turnpike Express should instead use a temporary bus stop on the southbound side of Broadway at Irvington Avenue.

Westwood officials also released the following construction schedule for this week:

Monday The turning lane on Washington Avenue at Broadway will open in the afternoon, weather permitting. The crosswalk and stop bar must be painted and allowed to dry. The surface must be dry so that the paint can adhere to the asphalt.  8:00 a.m. to Noon – Southwest corner of Broadway and Irvington Street. There is an underground tank on Broadway in front of Capital One Bank. The northbound or right lane will be closed on Monday morning so that the tank can be filled with sand and abandoned in place. The left turn lane will be used as the northbound lane on Broadway for the morning. Zuccaro Contracting will be conducting a general debris and material pick up at all locations.
Tuesday Southwest corner of Washington Avenue and Broadway (southbound). Zuccaro Contracting will begin construction of a retaining wall in the railroad right-of-way. This project will take approximately two weeks. PSE&G is scheduled to work all day in the southbound lane and behind the curb at the intersection of Broadway and Irvington Street. There will be intermittent lane closures.
Wednesday Southwest corner of Washington Avenue and Broadway (southbound). Zuccaro Contracting will continue with the construction of a retaining wall in the railroad right-of-way.
