Washington Township PBA Local 206 has increased their reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a driver who hit Police Officer Heather Castronova to $6,000.

Other local PBAs offered money to increase the award, which was initially set at $2,500 and then $5,000 over the weekend, according to Police Lt. Rich Skinner.

Castronova was returning to her car on Fern Street after issuing a ticket at about 4 a.m. Saturday when a black SUV struck her and its driver fled the scene. She was hospitalized and is continuing to recover.

Castronova told reporters via email that she wished to thank the PBAs, surrounding law enforcement agencies and local community for their support.
