Hillsdale Police Personnel Changes This Week

Two officers will take oaths of office and another will resign at the Hillsdale Council meeting this week.

Hillsdale will officially make some changes to police personnel during the borough council's meeting this week.

Two officers — Sean Smith and Ryan Norton — are scheduled to take their oaths of office during the meeting. Smith has been with the department for about 15 years and was recently promoted to sergeant. Norton was recently hired as a new officer.

The council is also scheduled to officially receive the resignation of Ramon Cruz, who left for a job with the Bergenfield Police Department.

Hillsdale Police Chief Chip Stalter previously told Patch that the borough may give a conditional offer of employment to their secon candidate from the interviews that led to Norton being hired.

The Hillsdale Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Borough Hall.
