Hundreds Mourn Woman Killed in Alleged Dispute With Brother

Family and friends of Washington Township resident Teia Gallo attended her funeral Monday at St. John's in Hillsdale.

The funeral for Teia Gallo drew about 400 people at St. John's of Hillsdale Monday, The Record reported.

Gallo, 20, was a graduate of Paramus Catholic High School and attended Dominican College, according to NJ.com.

She was allegedly stabbed to death by her 17-year-old brother, Travis, last week in their Washington Township home, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said. Travis was charged with murder and weapons possession in a closed court hearing last week. He pleaded not guilty.

Family members shared memories of Teia during the service.

“You taught me to always smile and never shed a tear over the little things,” her younger sister, Destiny, said, according to the NJ.com report.

She also expressed forgiveness for Travis, praying for him during the eulogy, according to the reports.

The Gallo family included 12 children, including three — both Teia and Travis among them — who were adopted. The large extended family took up the first three pews in St. John's, according to The Record.
