Report: Family 'Devastated' by Daughter's Death

Family and friends mourned for Teia Gallo, a 20-year-old Washington Township woman who was killed by her brother Thursday, according to Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli.

Friends and family of Teia Gallo, the 20-year-old Washington Township woman allegedly stabbed to death by her brother Thursday, expressed grief as they waited for law enforcement officials to announce what crimes the brother, 17-year-old Travis Gallo, would be charged with.

Robert Gallo, Teia's adopted father, posted a photo of her on Facebook, writing "Rest peacefully, angel," as the caption. He told The Record Friday that his "family is devastated" by the incident.

Friends of Teia also took to social media to express condolences and share memories.

Travis Gallo repeatedly stabbed Teia with a kitchen knife during an argument just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli. Gallo was expected to be charged in the crime sometime Friday, he said.

The Gallo family had not yet returned home around midday Friday as the house was still a crime scene under investigation, police said.
