Burglar Breaks Into Unlocked Washington Twp. Cars

Washington Township Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles.

A burglar stole items from at least two unlocked cars in Washington Township early Sunday morning, according to Washington Township Police Lt. Rich Skinner.

The thief stole a purse from one car on Jacob Road, making off with cash, credit cards and other personal items. One of the credit cards had been used twice since the burglary, which police were investigating, Skinner said.

A GPS was taken from another car on Clark Avenue. The thief also apparently left behind a seat cushion in that car which had not been in it or the Jacob Road car, according to Skinner.

Skinner said police want to remind residents to remove their valuables from their cars and to lock the doors.
