Teen Accused of Killing Sister May Get Charged as Adult, Report Says

Authorities have 30 days to make recommendation to judge whether to charge Travis Gallo, 17, as an adult.

Travis Gallo, the 17-year-old Washington Township resident accused of stabbing his sister to death Thursday, was charged with murder and weapons possession in a closed court session Friday, The Record reported.

Gallo was charged as a minor and he pleaded not guilty, but authorities were still considering charging him as an adult after the hearing, according to the report.

The teen allegedly repeatedly stabbed his adopted sister, 20-year-old Teia Gallo, with a kitchen knife during an argument in their Pershing Avenue home Thursday evening. She died soon after.

Authorities have 30 days to make a recommendation to a judge whether to charge Gallo as an adult, The Record reported.
