Former Resident, Postal Employee Dies at 89

Anna Marie Jackson Spears, a dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on February 26, 2012 in Round Rock, Texas.

Anna was born in Hillsdale, New Jersey to Allan Jackson and Anna Caspeele Jackson. She married her childhood friend and sweetheart, Edgar John Spears in Westwood. They were married for 42 years and raised three children in Westwood.

Anna served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a postal worker. After an honorable discharge, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty years in New Jersey.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Charles Jackson, and sister, Natalie Leonesio. She is survived by sister, Regina Ford of New York; and children: Joanne Long and her husband, Kenneth of Colorado; John Spears and his wife, Barbara of Delaware; and Jeanne Toewe and her husband, C. Fred of Texas; nine grandchildren John Long (Jeana), Jeanette Long, James Long, Sean Spears (Lynne), Brandon Spears (Meredith), Ryan Spears, Jeffrey Lyon (Jane), John Lyon (Tiffany), Julie Petrich (Paul); and sixteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral mass will be held at in Westwood, New Jersey on April 21, 2012 at 1 p.m.
