Westwood Rotary Offers CPR Training

Volunteers have already provided the training to almost a dozen local groups.

The Rotary Club of Westwood is offering hands-only "Family & Friends CPR Anytime" training to local businesses and organizations.

The training teaches people how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on someone suffering from sudden cardiac arrest, which kills about 450 people in the U.S. every day, according to the American Heart Association.

"Most Americans feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because they don’t know how to administer CPR or are afraid of hurting the victim," Westwood Rotary President Susan Thielemann said in a press release. "CPR can more than double a person's chances of survival so our goal is to provide this simple yet potentially life-saving skill to members throughout the community."

Anyone interested in the training can email westwoodrotarynj@gmail.com or call 201-280-1225.
