Watch: Woman Hit by Car Returns Home For Christmas

Hillsdale mom Ruta Fiorino lost her leg when she was hit by a car at the Westwood Trader Joe's last month.

A Hillsdale woman who lost her leg after being hit by a car outside the Westwood Trader Joe's last month was able to return home in time for Christmas, NBC reported.

Ruta Fiorino, a local mom, was finished with her shift at the store and preparing to do some shopping when a car driven by a 75-year-old New Milford woman lurched forward and hit her, causing "massive trauma to her lower extremities," police said.

Fiorino told NBC her goal was to be home by Christmas. Check out the video above.

"I have three kids to raise and a husband who loves me," she told NBC. "I can't just sit and cry."
