Hillsdale Residents Cleaning Up Town

The borough is holding a town-wide clean-up May 11.

The Hillsdale Mayor and Council have declared Saturday, May 11 as Hillsdale’s town-wide clean up day. The clean-up will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in selected areas throughout the town.

This clean-up is being organized by the Environmental Commission and Green Team and is being run with the assistance of many other Hillsdale organizations such as the Girl Scout and Boy and Cub Scout groups. All residents are invited to participate, as are business owners within the town.

Volunteers are asked to meet in Fireman’s Memorial Park in the center of town. Areas to be cleaned will be assigned and supplies will be provided. All collected garbage will be divided into recyclable and non-recyclable items. Gloves, long sleeves, long pants and appropriate footwear are recommended. Adult supervision is required for participation of those under 16 years of age. Pre-registration via email is appreciated. All volunteers are invited to partake in a pizza lunch back at Fireman’s Memorial Park at the end of the cleanup.
