Two Candidates For Unexpired Term on Westwood Regional School Board

Three current board members are running unopposed for re-election.

Julie Keating and Michael DeSena of Washington Township are both in the race for an unexpired seat on the Westwood Regional Board of Education.

Keating was appointed to the seat by other board members over the summer. She is is the district test coordinator at Cresskill Public Schools and a former classroom teacher for 15 years, a member of the Washington Township Library Board and former volunteer for the summer rec program. 

DeSena is an engineer and adjuct professor of engineering at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has volunteered with various community groups, including coaching baseball and basketball, being a member of the Knights of Columbus and working closely with the George School PSO when his wife was the group's president.

Three other board members — Roberta Hanlon, Joseph Blundo and Charles Koch — are running unopposed to keep their seats on the board.

The election will be held Tuesday.
