Washington Ave. Road Work to Last at Least Four Weeks
PSE&G will replace a gas main between Jackson Avenue and Pascack Road.
Drivers should expect delays when driving on Washington Avenue between Pascack Road and the Garden State Parkway for the next several weeks.
A project to replace gas mains on Washington Avenue between Pascack Road and Jackson Avenue in Washington Township is scheduled to start today. The work is expected to last four weeks, according to Mayor Janet Sobkowicz. PSE&G representative Bonnie Sheppard said the project could last until September 3, depending on weather conditions.
The westbound lane will be closed until August 3, according to Washington Township Police. Traffic may be stopped in both directions for several days near the completion of the project.

Roman E&G Corp. will replace about a half-mile of an old 12" cast iron gas main with a new plastic main for PSE&G. Sheppard said the work will take place on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Washington Township Police will redirect traffic with partial road closings and detours while the work is done.

Sobkowicz said crews may be storing materials and equipment on side streets during the project.
