Mommy University Launches HackensackUMC At Pascack Valley

If you’re like me, you are thrilled that HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley is finally open and taking patients.  It’s a relief to have a full-service, state-of-the-art acute care medical facility just minutes away that caters specific to our community. 

Last week myself and a few other Bergen County mom-fluencers (bloggers) were invited by HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley for a tour the facility’s new Maternity Center, lactation room as well as hear an overview of the classes offered through their new education series, Mommy University.

The HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley Maternity Center is a beautifully designed birthing facility with medical care from highly-skilled and experienced specialists in fetal medicine, but also offers comfort and in those few overwhelming days of being a new parent, privacy.   There is a patient concierge service, 24-hour room service and all private rooms, at no extra cost.   Each private room features a bathroom with shower, a 32 inch flat screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi.  The Maternity Center also has special delivery and post-partum rooms dedicated solely for C-Section mothers. There’s even a relaxing outdoor garden that sits directly in the middle of the maternity unit which is a calm and peaceful oasis for parents and baby to enjoy during their stay.   

What really impressed me about HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley though is their Mommy University educational series.   Unlike other classes and support groups in the area, Mommy University is totally FREE for mothers, fathers and caregivers.  They offer both pre and post-natal programs, with classes designed to help take the mystery out of the birthing process and help expectant parents prepare for their memorable event.   Currently, Mommy University offers Birthing 101, Breastfeeding 101, Baby 101 and two support groups - one for breastfeeding and the other for new moms.
