Kitchen Fantasies - Free IKEA Life Improvement Store Seminar This Weekend!

I’m one of those people who actually get excited when I see a home improvement catalog or home design magazine in my mailbox.   It’s a guilty pleasure for me -- after the kidlets are in bed, I’ll grab an iced tea and relax on the couch leafing through those publications and fantasize about all the amazing home improvements I’d make!

My first project would definitely be our kitchen.  I love to cook and it really is the heart of our home - but it is way out of date and needs a total re-do.  I have tons of kitchen gadgets (my current favs are my OXO mandolin and Cuisinart electric knife) and I never seem to have enough storage or counter space for everything.

Should I shift my appliances and/or sink to a more feng shui-friendly arrangement?  What is the latest in shelving options? What exactly is an “appliance garage?”  Would a different color inspire a different mood in here? Hiring a designer can be super expensive, so I often go to home improvement/design stores where I can “ask an expert” for their advice.

Well, this weekend, Family Circle and designer dad Stephen Saint-Ong are collaborating with IKEA® for a Free IKEA Life Improvement Store Seminar in Northern NJ where Stephen will offer creative tips and techniques making it easy for busy families and those on a budget to get great ideas on how to refresh, enhance and update home kitchens.

Stephen will be at the IKEA in Paramus (100 IKEA Drive, Paramus, NJ) on Saturday, April 20 and over at the IKEA in Elizabeth (1000 IKEA Drive, Elizabeth, NJ) on Sunday, April 21. Both seminar sessions start at 1 pm and are open to the public.  Plus attendees will receive free gift giveaways, too!
