Fall Foods Are in Season Around the Pascack Valley

Local businesses are offering seasonal foods in Westwood and Hillsdale.

Fall is a great time for food in the Pascack Valley, with many local eateries offering up a mix of traditional and new seasonal treats.

Demarest Farms in Hillsdale has fresh apple-based goodies, including cider and cider doughnuts, as well as pumpkins available pre-picked or pick-it-yourself for a fun family experience. The farm's market also has many other fruits, veggies and Halloween candy available.

Conrad's Confectionary, on Westwood Avenue, has a variety of sweet fall-themed treats available. Their homemade pumpkin ice cream comes in regular and a unique soft serve variety. They are also offering their signature chocolate in Halloween and Thanksgiving shapes, ranging from Frankenstein monster lollipops up to nearly lifesize chocolate turkeys. Conrad's also has candy apples for the first time this year.

In addition to seasonal beers, the restaurant is offering a full German-themed menu, including the Hofbrauhaus burger of the month, which comes stuffed with Munster cheese and served on a Kaiser roll, with potato pancakes and sauerbraten gravy on the side. The Oktoberfest menu also includes other traditional options like the "best wurst" combo which features bratwurst, knockwurst and weisswurst with red cabbage.
