Westwood Hospital Receives 900 Applications

HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley is filling hundreds of positions before they open next year.

More than 900 people applied for jobs at HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley during an employment open house last week, according to hospital rep Lauren Zaccardi Samman.

The hospital, located at the site of the former Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, is filling about 40 positions this year and about 350 before they open in 2013.

For more information about the available jobs, check out the hospital's website. In addition to medical professionals, the hospital is also seeking people for technical and administrative positions.

Several leadership roles at the hospital were already filled this summer. Chad Melton was brought in as the new CEO in July and Laura Cima and Anthony Esposito were hired in August as the new chief nursing officer and chief financial officer, respectively.

The hospital is scheduled to open next spring, though continuing litigation from the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and Englewood Hospital and Medical Center could potentially delay the opening. Courts have repeatedly found in favor of the new Westwood-based hospital.

State officials gave final approval for the hospital last February, prompting a visit to Westwood from Governor Chris Christie days later.
