Westwood Schools Continue In-House Facilities Improvements

Buildings and Grounds Director Dean D'Agostino reported on the various projects they've undergone at Thursday's school board meeting.

The Westwood Regional Schools buildings and grounds department completed various projects in-house this year, saving money that would have otherwise been spent on outside contractors, according to department Director Dean D'Agostino.

D'Agostino presented his annual "state of the district facilities" report to the school board during their meeting Thursday. The presentation included photos and videos of the various projects as they were underway.

The projects included the installation of new tile floors and waterless urinals at the Brookside and George School bathrooms, a fresh paint job for the walls and sanding/re-sealing of the floor in the high school's upper gym, renovations of the upper gym locker rooms, renovations to space in Washington School and the new fountain and courtyard at the highs school, among others.

Interim Superintendent James Sheerin praised the program and the work of the buildings and grounds staff.

"I have never seen anything like this in-house," Sheerin said. "This is incredible."
