Vets Visit Pascack Valley High School

The veterans met with students to talk about their experiences ranging from World War II to Vietnam.

The American Legion in Hillsdale recently dispatched a squad of Legionnaires to Pascack Valley High School for Veterans Day.

The veterans were invited to share some of their military service experiences and field questions from the students. The vets split up into three groups and spent the better part of the school day visiting and talking with the students about their time in the service from World War II through the Vietnam encounter.

The students in all the classes had questions and social studies teacher Leah Jerome said that some of her students wanted to form a group to write to the current active duty troops. She said she would coordinate that activity with Principal Tom DeMaio so the whole student body could participate.

This info was provided by Al Murphy on behalf of American Legion Post 162.
