Nutritional Tip Of The Month

Springtime is upon us, and summer is on its way. That means a bunch of carbs have been dropped in diets around the country. The common trend with that is that energy levels go down along with the carbs. A great way to jumpstart your day is coconut oil. Take one tablespoon and allow it to melt in your coffee for a moment. What you're creating is a boost in energy, as well as a catalyst for fat burning. Coconut oil is a major source of MCTs (medium chain triglycerides). This type of fat source is readily available to the body as energy, so it is actually burned off much quicker than most fat sources. It is an immediate energy booster, especially when combined with caffeine, and it happens to taste pretty good. The key when doing this little combo is to skip the milk and half and half, not to mention the sugar and sweeteners. Give it a try.....it may change the way you drink coffee forever.
