Memorial Day Parade- Pearl River, NY

On Monday May 26th, 2014, the John H. Secor American Legion Post 329 of Pearl River will host the Annual Memorial Day Parade. The Parade will start at 10:15 A.M. from the former HSBC Bank, now Niagara First Bank, across from the bowling alley on North Middletown Road.  The parade route then heads south to East Central Avenue and then down East Central Avenue to Braunsdorf Park in the heart of Pearl River.

Our primary guest speaker this year will be Richard Jones.  Rich is a Veteran of the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment and the 10th Mountain Division.  He currently serves as Senior Vice President/ General Tax Counsel/ Chief Veteran Officer at the CBS Corporation. Rich works closely with many veteran organizations and is a tireless and passionate champion for our Nation’s veterans.  He is proud life member of both the American Legion and DAV (Disabled American Veterans).  He was appointed by Congress and serves on the Advisory Committee on Veterans' Employment, Training and Employer Outreach (ACVETEO) at the U.S. Labor Department and Veterans Administration.  In addition, he sits on the boards of the Wounded Warrior Project, The Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University, The Aaron Grider Foundation, HonorVet and ACT Today! (Autism Care & Treatment) for Military Families.  He sits on the command council for the Easter Seals Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Community Services (Dixon Center) and is an advisor to and advocate for the Gary Sinise Foundation, Veteran’s Advantage and the Warrior Family Foundation.
